Dr. Michael Risher - Founder
Dr. Risher knew he wanted to be a chiropractor in eighth grade when he suffered a back injury. His chiropractor helped him overcome the injury and go on to have a high school and collegiate football career. He was a Division III All-American defensive back at Wheaton College as a senior. There, he also completed his bachelor's degree in Applied Health Science. Upon graduation in 2015, he accomplished a lifelong dream of riding his bicycle from San Francisco to Boston. This was where the idea of overcoming obstacles became ingrained in his life. Before attending Palmer Chiropractic College West, Dr. Risher worked as a sports performance coach in Highland Park, where he worked with athletes of all ages. In 2016, he moved to San Jose, CA, where he completed his Doctorate of Chiropractic, earning clinical excellence honors. Dr. Risher wants to help you overcome the obstacles that are holding you back from living the life you want!
Dr. Kristin Risher - Chiropractor
Dr. Kristin Risher received her Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, CA, where she graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. She has worked in the health and fitness industry for nearly ten years, teaching movement and performance strategies to athletes of all ages, levels, and activities. Dr. Risher has been fortunate enough to have worked in renowned clinics in Huntington Beach, CA and San Jose, CA, providing care for elite athletes. She has also been an attending physician at elite-level sporting events, including The North Face Endurance Challenge and The Sea Otter Classic.Outside of her opportunities to work with athletes, she was one of the few students selected to complete her fellowship training at the Central Iowa VA, where she treated patients in the Pain Management Clinic, amongst other health professionals, utilizing the most Evidence-Based Research methods. While she was there, she attended didactic training alongside medical residents and completed numerous rounds ranging from interventional radiology to cardiology and pain psychology.

Dr. JJ Carr - Physical Therapist
JJ completed his undergraduate schooling with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Xavier University in Ohio. He went on to complete his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. JJ continued his education, post-graduation, as he worked to become a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Titleist Performance Institute Certified. JJ is interested in treating a wide variety of neuromusculoskeletal conditions in addition to working with athletes of all ages to prevent and rehab from injuries.JJ focuses on providing individualized patient care that utilizes evidence-based manual therapy treatment and targeted exercises. This includes joint, soft tissue, and/or neural mobilization followed by specific individualized exercise progression, patient education, and reassessment. He ties these treatments to patients' unique goals so they can achieve improved function and prevent future injury.When he is not in the clinic, JJ enjoys traveling with his wife and trying different restaurants in Chicago. He also enjoys playing golf, basketball, and football.
Dr. Nicole Raia - Physical Therapist
Dr. Nicole Raia knew she wanted to be a physical therapist from a young age. She found herself in and out of rehab due to frequent sports injuries, which left her sidelined. Because of this, she became passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities they love most. She believes that understanding the “why” behind movement is key to lasting results and long-term wellness.Nicole attended St. Louis University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, and went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at St. Louis University. Post graduation, she went on to become a certified myofascial trigger point therapist/ Dry needling. Nicole uses an integrative approach that combines soft tissue mobilization, therapeutic exercise, dry needling, and neuromuscular re-education to treat both acute and chronic pain. She also specializes in post-operative rehabilitation for athletes recovering from orthopedic surgeries, from ACL and rotator cuff repairs to labral and meniscus procedures, helping them safely and confidently return to sport at all levels.Outside of the clinic, Nicole enjoys playing softball, cheering on all Chicago sports teams, spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants in the city and traveling!
